Reclaiming the open web: Make web greater again

Reclaiming the open web: Make web greater again

The web is changing. Search results are flooded with AI-generated noise. Original voices are getting harder to find. And as large language models scrape and regurgitate the work of creators, more of them are choosing to go dark — pulling their content behind walls, locking it away, or simply stopping.

We think that’s a loss worth fighting.

Renew Web is a collective effort to surface the real, human-made corners of the internet. We create lightweight web showcases — clean, searchable, discoverable — for creators who care about openness but don’t want to spend their days wrestling with SEO.

What we do

We build web frontends that make creators’ work easier to find. That’s it. Every repository here is a presentation layer; all original content and intellectual property belongs to its respective creator. We are stewards, not owners.

Now, we offer those pagse return back to internet:

Our commitments

  • Non-commercial. This project generates no revenue and never will. We exist purely in service of discoverability.
  • No AI training. No distillation. Content surfaced through this project may not be used to train, fine-tune, or distill any machine learning model — in whole or in part, directly or indirectly.
  • Creator-first. If a creator asks us to remove their work, we do it. No questions, no delays.

Join us

If you’ve felt the web getting smaller — if you’ve watched great work disappear into obscurity while algorithmic slop rises to the top — you already know why this matters.

We’re looking for developers, designers, and writers who want to push back. Contributing is simple: bring a creator (or be one), help us build a showcase, and keep the open web alive.

Open an issue, start a discussion, or reach out directly. The door is open.
